EMPATHY ❖ COMPASSION ❖ UNCONDITIONAL POSITIVE REGARD
Welcome! My name is Lauren Downey and I am the owner of TICC. Thus far, I have built my counseling career on helping individuals process their traumas. As a nationally certificated Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Counselor, I deeply understand how negative life experiences can impact an individual. However, as a humanistic and strength-based counselor, I also understand the importance of treating a wide range of disorders. If you have experienced the life-changing event(s) that have impacted your quality of life or if you are simply seeking guidance in order to gain a deeper and more insightful perspective into how you can engage in meaningful change, then the TICC may be a good fit for you. At the TICC the overarching goal is to help individuals from various backgrounds, identify, explore, and effectively process challenging life circumstances and experiences. If you are interested in bettering your mental stability and quality of life, please give the TICC a call to discuss scheduling your psychosocial evaluation.
The mission of the Trauma-Informed Counseling Center is to provide meaningful therapeutic services and treatments in an inclusive environment to individuals from all walks of life. We strive to help each individual understand the multifaceted nature of trauma and how mental health disorders do not have to control, or significantly impact the quality of life.

My name is Lauren Downey and I possess a doctorate degree in counselor education and supervision. I am also a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor (LPCC-S). I have been providing counseling services to individuals in the Bluegrass region for over seven years. As a mental health provider, I have worked in various settings that have included intensive in-home, outpatient, and private practice counseling settings. Through these experiences, my passion for counseling individuals who have experienced trauma as well as other mental health disorders grew into the establishment that is known as the Trauma-Informed Counseling Center (TICC).
