Hello, my name is Raven Dixon and I am a Certified Social Worker (CSW). I obtained my Master of Social Work- Advanced Clinical Practice degree(MSW) at Walden University. Social work wasn't a profession that I chose, however, it was something that chose me, such as a calling. I first was introduced and fell in love with this profession almost 10 years ago. I have had the pleasure and luxury to work with a multitude of populations within a myriad of settings. For example, I have had the honor to work with children, adolescents, young adults, older adults, and families. I have worked within nonprofits, residential reentry programs, long term-care and rehabilitation facilities, schools/daycares, private practice, community behavioral health centers, hospitals, group homes, and much more. I’ve gained knowledge and skills working with clients who experienced anxiety and mood disorders, adjustment disorder, self-harm/suicide ideation, developmental disabilities, intimate and family relational conflict, parenting, and trauma-related diagnoses.
I am a brainspotting practitioner. “Where you look affects how you feel.” Brainspotting is a trauma specific treatment, which is effective by helping to identify points in an individual's visual field to assist in retrieving unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. I have acquired knowledge and skills with diverse treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Multisystemic Therapy (MST), and Womanist Therapy. When working with clients, I view them as the “expert” of their lives. In therapy, collaboration is key, we will be a team, and as your clinician, I will allow you to remain in the driver seat, while I support and assist you in the passenger seat.

“The past is a place of reference, not a place of residence. The past is place of learning, not a place of living.”- Roy T. Bennet
